PRAYER – ALWAYS UNIQUE

PRAYER – ALWAYS UNIQUE

with No Comments

Prayer is a unique form of speech. Because unlike any other form, this one is to the Creator. It’s the warm feeling as if all our burdens have vanished, that distinguishes it. There is total surrender in prayer to God. It’s a request, asking God to overcome our difficulties. Also it is total submission, surrendering to God the entire outcome of our life. It’s also a praise, for all that God brought us out of. Prayer is something that is more than communication to God. It is establishing a personal relationship.

Prayer itself has no substitutes. For almost anything in this world you may find another to replace with. If a product is out of stock, a substitute may be already available in the market. If a relationship breaks, you can still mend it. But that’s not how prayer is. There is only one way to speak to God and that is Prayer. That is the only thing I have realized to be a unique characteristic of religion. Prayer is the only way to speak to God.

Our problems have no end at all. We live in oblivion all the time.  But there is certainty, there is an outcome and there is a God. It is prayer that makes you go each step closer to God, who in turns give us hope for all our problems. A hope that man cannot give can be given by Christ. We all are destined to walk the narrow road, facing every trial and obstacle whatever there may be. And that is the true test of being a good individual. We all have to run our separate races. The outcome of which will be judged by the Lord himself.

If only we could spend some time in prayer can it change the Lord’s mind. A simple prayer can change his decision and have compassion towards us. But we choose not to do it and rather grieve over every situation. Just ten minutes that we can devote to prayer will do more wonders than when we didn’t do it at all. It’s often the smallest things that have a bigger impact in life, so is prayer. Our problems will recede and no longer will worries be an option.

It’s when that prayer brings results we often choose to do it. But after sometime when life wants to teach us a lesson, we start to come back again hoping to get that warm feeling we once lost. Let me tell you prayer is not use and throw. The Lord is on one end and he doesn’t like people who pray like hypocrites.

When we pray we should do it like a child. Jesus said in Mathew 18:2 “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”

Why did Jesus have to say to us be like children? If you read the above verse properly it says to take lowly position of the child. A child always has humbles down before his elders. But sometimes we think of ourselves as Gods and that we don’t need to humble down before anyone. If we are to enter the kingdom of Jesus, we have to humble before the Lord. Like a child. Always think like a child.

A prayer should come from habit. It should also be from your heart. Other than these, it’s never acceptable to the Lord. It’s only through our prayers can God perform his duties. There are no other options. Prayers are always weapons capable of breaking all bondage. They are words of power that can destroy every spiritual bondage that are invisible to the eye.

Prayer is inevitable. And Abraham Lincoln has said it vividly                    “I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for that day.”

Says Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard “The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.”

Have a fruitful life
