Welcoming 2017

with No Comments

Another year has passed by and it feels only like a second has been spent. Every new year is a new beginning and every day also a new surprise. As they say, it’s best to keep the past behind. Regrets of the past should remain in the past. God has been seeing us. For the Bible says in Psalms 121 – “He neither slumbers or sleeps.”   We can be assured that whatever has happened, was with God’s eye all over them. So let’s greet 2017 with this verse –

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9. Years may have passed always but they have never thrown away God’s promises.

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.”

God lent His shoulders freely to those in need, carrying their burdens forever. He gave His grace to those who needed it, sealing their future with abundant blessings. Without a pause in His obligation towards us, God kept His promises year after year. This year, your promises will still continue to happen. Solomon speaks of a time for everything in Ecclesiastes 3.  A time to rejoice will certainly come when God feels right that it should happen to you. Promises do get delayed for a good reason – to promote us at the right time at the right place.

Even though promises are fulfilled and things go smooth, we tend to forget what God has done in the previous years to make us come this far. It’s an important that we remember and thank the Lord for all that He has done. And that’s not all. God made His glory known so that He would be praised. It is important not to just speak of praise, but to praise God for all that He has did. This year wouldn’t be special without God’s hand over it. So God’s anointing on us is equally important as anything.

2017 – HOW TO BEGIN IT

It’s a great thing that we have come to another year, isn’t it? A dozen thoughts must have already crossed your mind on how to handle 2017. Here I would like to share my thoughts and experiences from my own life.

Even if things have gone smooth, sometimes we come to a point thinking how to move further. When everything takes a turn in your life, that’s when God needs you more. It is you that God needs close to Him, JUST YOU ALONE.

We need a plan but more importantly we need God’s approval. It’s human nature to think that we can do almost everything by ourselves. But when that doesn’t work out then according to us there is no way at all.

I asked this question on New Year’s Eve – “Lord, where do I start from?”. In my life, I have experienced delays. I saw how others succeeded and made plans of my own on reaching heights. But those weren’t God’s plans. I couldn’t why my plans never happened. I lost heart in almost everything I did. I knew God surely looked out for me and kept pursuing my faith. Later on, I started to refocus and one by one I said to myself that things must change for better. All these happened because I never realized God was the One whom I was supposed to consult on anything and everything. That was the most important lesson I missed out in life. I would personally like to say to all who read this blog – Consult God first in everything that you do.

I feel peaceful now that everything is now in the hands of my Saviour. In my imagination, things would seem to go wrong. I knew that God had a plan – a far better one than the one I have now. I am glad that if I had not been through trials, I would not have been the person I am now. When I realised that I have a way, not because of my capability but because of God, I was relieved and my burdens fell down to the ground. I have never felt much relieved until I read through the Word. When God spoke to me through the scriptures, I felt a peace within that made me calm. Amidst all accusations, I could feel that God made me feel what I never felt before – a stronger person deep inside. Nothing bothered me as long as I thought about my promises.

REBOOTING AGAIN

We have entered into another glorious year. This year, those who missed those precious years of joy – you still have a chance to restart all over again. Let’s utilise this year to make for all that we lost, in prayer and submission. God still hears and He still answers prayers. He never rejects them.

If you are a person who is lost or troubled, you still have not missed your ride. It doesn’t matter what you problem is – The door to the kingdom of heaven is still widely open for you, waiting for you to receive it. It is not another day that God is looking to receive us. It is today that God looks for. Are we ready to openly submit ourselves this very SECOND? If you have never done it, it is not hard at all. It is just a matter of seconds. You can say “God, I am ready to receive you this very second.” And the rest is history. Your life will turn the way not the way you imagine it to be but how God imagines it to be.

Wishing you a Happy 2017. May blessings from heaven shower upon you abundantly throughout this year.

Yours Faithfully

Jerin
