My rock of refuge

My rock of refuge

“Be O Lord my rock of refuge, to which I can always go, give the command to save me, for you are my rock and fortress.” – Psalms 71:3

From time to time, things change. Joy may turn into sorrow and the life you once had may not be there anymore. Never be anxious about the past and the things that happen in the present. Be joyful about the future because our God is a god who levels mountains. “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.” – Psalms 23:2.

If things had never happened as they should have, we would have never known God. The most bitter experiences in life which taste sour will later taste sweet. If life was easier, lessons would have never been learned.

I can co-relate this to peoples lives who never did anything wrong in life but had unpleasant situations in their lives. They come from all walks of life and with Christ behind them, they bounced back from all their difficulties and extreme situations. Even though initially they had to experience issues , the latter part of their life was where they experienced joy which had no boundaries. Sufferings are temporary and play a crucial part in moulding us into a Christ – like being. God still holds the future and He can still turn things around anytime He pleases.
