“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5

Jeremiah was seventeen years old when the Lord called him. He was young and he was not completely sure whether he could do it. He says “O Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am only a child.” But the Lord said “Do not say you are only a child.’ ‘You must go everywhere I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” says the Lord.

Never say that you cannot do things. Say I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me – Philippians 4:3. Never excuse ourselves before the Lord. Say Lord I am ready to go wherever you want me to go. We might not be ready at the right time but when God says go, we should go. You might be thinking of your strengths and weaknesses prior to everything but it is the Lord who prepares us. Even when the Lord sets us apart, it is our doubt that causes us to stumble. Never leave the enemy a chance to say you are a loser. You are a winner.

Often we forget, that it is the Lord who prepares us and goes before us. Those bronze gates that we think will never open will open when the Lord is beside. We think only of our own capabilities but we forget that it is the Lord who fights the battle. We make our plans but from the Lord comes the final word says the Bible. This is where we revere Him. This is humbling before a great God who does everything for the good of His own people.
