Unforgiven Pride

Unforgiven Pride

“In the pride of your heart you say ”I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.” – Ezekiel 28:2

God hates pride. Period. Lucifer lost his glory because of the pride he gave birth to. The source of all pride is the heart. And that is where the enemy attacks the most. A phrase from Ezekiel 28:17 reads

“Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendour.”

Notice that Lucifer’s pride originated from his heart. He wanted to be equivalent to God as he was called the Bright and Morning Star. This is exactly what happens to men. The enemy whispers and we unconsciously hear. The Bible warns that the we should be careful against the tricks of the enemy. All this pride and in the end, we are nothing but dust. How do we constantly defend ourselves from these forces of opposition? By constantly praying and praising God. Simply walking around your lawn by saying “I praise you God for all that you have done for me, I praise you” is a form of prayer. You can praise God when you are driving, or even say pursuing your hobbies. There is no end to praise. There is no end to prayer.

There are three things we need to do:

  1. CONSTANTLY PRAY –  Say no matter what, I’ll never leave you God. Hold on to his goodness. Experience his power and feel it flow through you.
  2. CONSTANTLY PRAISE – Always keep praising for all the good he has done for you. When we let praises flow, we thank God constantly. He will never stop honoring you for all that you do for him.
  3. CONSTANTLY RISE – There are times when we fall.  It’s okay to fall. Let’s accept that first. No matter what, keep fighting back with prayer. Invite the Spirit to guide you in your daily matters. Never feel brokenhearted. Remember the enemy always preys on our weaknesses. Fight back with all the strength you have left. Those who rely on God will soar like eagles – Isaiah 40:31.

Dear friends, we unknowingly fall into the trap of letting pride into our hearts. There is no fault in admitting that we all have let in a little pride and have boasted of our skills rather than giving all glory to the Lord. Now is the time to give it all to the Lord. Before your pride lets you down, give it all to the Lord and let Him open doors for you.
