THE BIBLE – WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

with 1 Comment

Dear friend,

You may be wondering why reading the Bible is necessary? What does it have for you? Why is it so important? Well here is the answer. The Bible is the only thing between you and God. It’s like a GPS guiding you through all the problems that you encounter.

You would have the heard famous quote “a friend in need is a friend indeed”. That’s what the Bible is. It’s like your friend in need at all times.  It has a solution to all the problems that you may face in your life. And you will receive peace. Believe me, the solution is already there!

The author of life has already written solutions anticipating all kinds of problems that you would face in your life. The Bible has been written to show you the way to eternal life. John 14:6 says “I am the way, the truth and the life. Without me no one can go the Father”. It actually serves that purpose by filling in the gap between you and God.

START READING THE BIBLE!

A small advice! Make it a point to read the Bible regularly. Because it comes in handy. It trains us to be closer to Jesus.  Have you ever noticed that sometimes we depend on God at the brink of a situation? God doesn’t want you to be like that. He wants you closer. Closer to him always! Reading the bible changes your life in such a way that you will be closer to God than you imagine.

Keeping the Bible close to your heart can always save you. Even if it’s a mini bible always make it a point to have one with you at all times. Read a Bible when a situation arises, no matter what it is. And you will see your answer to your situation. Reading the Bible makes you wiser, gives you a stronger attitude and will equip you to face the world, under any circumstances.

Do you know that the Bible is often a medium for God to speak to us? He points out the right verse at the right time. A way to recognize it is when your thoughts continually think on one verse Jesus has shown you. You may be browsing through that verse continuously. At the right time, you will know that it is for you. That’s how he shows you an answer.

My friend Donny rightly said that the Bible is the only book whose author is still alive. Every author who writes a book passes away at some point. But the person who wrote the Bible is still living forever. And he never dies. Nor does he sleep. Refer to Psalms 121:1-3

I will look to the hills, where will my help come from. My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth. He will not let your foot slip, he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Jesus never sleeps. He always keeps an eye on you.

OUR LIFE MANUAL

The Bible has almost everything in it. A whole book of Psalms to praise Jesus. The book of Proverbs contains wise instructions from Solomon who was the wisest man who ever lived on earth.  At times of distress, Philippians 4:6 comes in handy. The message about Jesus is given in Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. The book of Acts of the Apostles also helps you to be a better Christian. For other advices relating to marriage, leading a church and other topics, refer to the book of Ephesians and 1 Timothy.

To lead a better life, only a Bible can help more than anyone else because it contains God’s word. And God’s word is final. Spread the word about Jesus even if you can save atleast one person from his sinful life. Give a person a Bible and let him know the good news about Jesus.

You might be hearing about the end of the world. The Book of Revelation reveals what’s going to happen in the near future. People sin, lie and deceive. And for all that there will be an end. That is why, Jesus, the author of the Bible, our savior and our redeemer, has shown everything beforehand. He is patiently waiting for you to return to him. And no man on earth can ever wait like he does.

Finally, follow the Bible as it has been written and you will live. Every word must be read with an alert mind. Try to understand the deep meanings within it. Concentrate and pray to Jesus that he may show you its meaning. This is all that I have for you to say about the Bible. Read it. Meditate on it. And do not follow anything other than what has been written. May his grace be with you at all times.

Have a blessed day!

Regards,

Jerin
