Check your spiritual health | The Morning Word

How often do we check our spiritual health? Are we in alignment with God? Or we in alignment with the world? This is vital considering how everything around us moves so fast.

Let’s start with our career. We wake up in the morning, drive to work and come back late night. Imagining there is no time for prayer, we make up our excuses for our lack of prayer. This becomes a routine and gradually we begin to slack considering we place our career more important than our spiritual life. Our career and our spiritual life should go together. One cannot exist without the other because prayer is what backs up every area of our life.

Checking our spiritual health is important because alignment with God takes into a different path to success. I don’t mean prosperity alone. I mean in everything with God behind you, the weight of your life is never on you. It is on him. Your successes and your failures are in His hand. Therefore, the worries of your life should never shake your core. Rest assured, God is always with you planning every detail of your life.

Our walk with God is more important than anything. A commitment to Jesus takes precedence above everything else.

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” – Rev. 3:20 (NLT).

A believer’s life is no ordinary one. It is an extraordinary one. When we fight our battles, we fight them in the spiritual realm. You are a spiritual giant when you walk with God.

Check what is going on in your life today. And make sure to walk in the path God wants to be in. Ask Him for guidance. He is always ready to help us out.

Things you should today to check on your spiritual health:

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to show what you lack

Ask God and he will point out the areas where we lack His presence. Knowing him is more essential than anything else. The more we get to know him, the more we understand what he wants from us. A spiritual man or woman seeks God’s will more than his or her own will.

    • Pray in tongues

If you have the ability to pray in tongues, never stop praying. Praying in tongues edifies you and boldens you in your relationship with God.

    • Keep listening

There is nothing more important than seeking God’s presence. Keep reading and meditating on God’s Word. He will definitely speak to you at a time when you don’t even think about his call.
