Why is Faith Important | The Morning Word

have faith

What is faith? Faith simply means putting your unconditional trust in God. It implies putting your confidence 100 percent in his power that he is able to do all things.

Faith is the confidence in the things that are unseen (Heb. 11:1). Sometimes it doesn’t seem rational. It feels weird when we have to take a step in faith but that is what faith is. It is taking a step in confidence in God’s ability to make things straight for you.

The Bible describes that faith pleases God (Heb. 11:6). And faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

How can faith change us?

A Christian to be true Christian must believe in the work and the power of God. We may have heard who God is but when we exercise faith, we see who God really is. God is waiting for our faith to expand to show his power in the midst where nothing may seem possible. The Bible is full of examples where men and women who have believed and have seen the power of God in their lives.

Often, our expectation of faith is vastly different from what it really is. We expect miracles, blessings, breakthroughs and so much more with a word of faith or with faith filled messages that boosts our confidence so much that we are ready to receive everything right now.

The Bible paints a stark contrast to this picture – the men and women of God saw their promises after years of patiently waiting for their breakthroughs. Their faith pleased God and so was God who was pleased in their obedience or the perseverance of his Word. In time, he blessed them so much that they were filled in awe. He sometimes blessed them so much that everybody would be surprised around them.

Faith changes us remarkably not just on the outside but on the inside. When we exercise our complete authority, faith brings results that show that God is more powerful. When we believe, we see that impossible things have now become possible.

To better understand faith, I’ll describe them into two – one is superficial and one is real. The first one is fake; the second is life transforming.

If you say you have faith and you doubt the result of your faith, it means your faith isn’t strong. It is just superficial. Jesus criticized the Pharisees for this very reason. They claimed to be faithful when they were really unfaithful.

When you have faith and put it into works, you are pleasing God. You’ll begin to realize it’s not the doubts that matter, it is the faith that matters for God to put to use.

Some more words…

Faith, when exercised, is more powerful than anything else. If we declare our words in faith, God will align everything according to his will only if it is his will.

Faith never came instantly to the men and women of God. Hearing the Word stirred up their faith. And when began to work in their lives, it became evident the power of the Creator was working in them.

Start by hearing the Word of God today. And God will begin to work in you and through you.
